InfraGard & Deloitte Team Up For a Unique Event

Deloitte Consulting in conjunction with the Philadelphia Chapter of InfraGard will be hosting a conference focusing on security and privacy issues as they relate to Cloud Computing & Virtualization. Share your experience and increase your eminence by submitting a proposal to present at this event being held on Thursday, April 22nd, 2010 in Glen Mills, PA.

The purpose of the conference is to provide educational and networking opportunities for the Philadelphia Chapter of InfraGard's members and other guests. This one day event offers attendees the ability to learn in multiple formats:
  • Breakthrough ideas: Keynote speakers such as Deloitte Consulting's CTO Mark White and Lieutenant General Harry D. Raduege, Jr. (USAF, Ret), Chairman of the Deloitte Center for Cyber Innovation
  • Interactive forums: Ask the expert panel, Meet the keynotes, etc
  • In-depth technical classroom style sessions
  • Vendor product demonstrations
Presentations can be designed for any level of experience - from fundamental to intermediate to advanced topics. Attendees will be looking to hear about current and emerging issues in Cloud Computing & Virtualization as well as best practices.

Primary Audience

The Philadelphia Chapter of InfraGard is made up of approximately 900 members from numerous industries in the Philadelphia Metropolitan Area. As InfraGard is a partnership between the FBI and the private sector there is a strong focus on sharing information and intelligence that can prevent hostile acts against the United States. Based on surveys we know that that our audience is most interested in hearing about topics such as:
  • Data Segregation & Protection - How can I protect my data in the cloud?
  • Logs & Audit Trail - How do I audit what's happening?
  • Is cost the only driver for cloud? What else should I know?
  • PCI, HIPAA, EU privacy, FFIEC
  • Private or Public Cloud - What are the trade-offs?
Guidelines for Presentations

Depending on the level of interest from attendees, anywhere from one to four sessions may be held concurrently. Sessions should be no more than 60 minutes in length. Attendees prefer interactive formats with Q&A as opposed to lecture formats. To encourage interaction sessions should be presented in ways such as:
  • Roundtable or panel discussion
  • Debate
  • Demonstration
Evaluation Criteria

All proposals will be reviewed by both the InfraGard Board of Officers & Deloitte Consulting's review committee. Both groups will review all proposals based upon the appeal and clarity of the proposal as well as their applicability to our attendee's interests based upon our survey responses. Presenters are reminded that this event is not about selling a service or product but educating our audience. We expect the review process to take approximately three to four weeks.

How to Submit a Proposal

Proposals should be submitted to submissions@infragardphl.org. Please make sure the subject of your email reads "Proposal Submission: Cloud Computing & Virtualization Symposium". The deadline for submitting proposals has been extended to February 19, 2010. The submission should contain the following:
  • Session Title
  • Experience Level: fundamental, intermediate or advanced
  • Session Length: (no more than 60 minutes)
  • Summary: One sentence (limit 40 words) that describes the presentation content. This will be used in the online program to attract attendees.
  • Abstract: 100 words or less, describe the theme and purpose of the presentation.
  • Equipment: Indicate any A/V needs you might have
  • Presenter(s) Information: Contact information as well as bio of all session presenters.
Location

The Deloitte Glen Mills, PA conference center facility is located approximately 20 minutes from Philadelphia International Airport and can seat just over 300 in the main room. Additional rooms around the facility can be individually configured based upon the presenter's format as well as the level of interest in the topic. These smaller rooms can hold anywhere from 8 to as many as 80.

Event Registration

Registration & general announcement of the event is currently scheduled to start in early March. Attendee registration for this event will be done through the Philadelphia InfraGard website.
